Top 10 Qualities of Great Leaders you must know

How leader is doing is big different from what manager is doing. Leader is leading while manager is following. Leader is doing the right thing while manager doing the thing right. Leader prefers the blur colour while manager and simple people prefer clear white, red or black colour. What are such qualities to be a great leader in business and all positions? We have ten traits of greater’s norm:

CEO or leader share values and attitudes whereas managers and boss share only skills and knowledge. Find out those intrinsic values with us now.

a).  Leaders Works with Blurriness: Very often people want a clear cut decisions, great leaders would like to see a combination of grey shadow. Successful leaders are able to handle apparent contradictions in tension. They use these paradoxes to come up with innovative ideas.
b).   Leaders Like Blank Sheets of Paper: Managers and simple boss use given policies and procedures to guide them to make a proper decision. They prefer a clear instruction so that they could do and succeed it on time. In contrast, great leaders create a white paper so that managers can pen on it with any colour. Every leader wants something from scratch so that they can have such unique, innovative idea.

c).   Leaders love people around them but need a challenging one: Unlike boss who only prefer the staffs that like to listen to them, leaders would love to see challenges from people around them, and this means leader would like to hire the most challenging people. They don’t if today’s challenger might be tomorrow’s rival. Challengers give leader new idea always.

d).   Leaders Prefer Choices: Diversity is the best and only options for great leaders. Diversity springs unique thinking. A team of ten’s head is much better and a team of hundred people but one dominant brain.

e).   Leaders like to see the facts: Although it’s good or bad, successful leader are always welcome it. They wanted to know how they have gone; what’s wrong with their policies; where and how to fix it etc. The real facts can answer lots of question that have been asked long ago. The facts share big pie of the doubts.

f).   Leaders Tie Their Necks Out: Leaders are always at the front. If something went wrong, they will come forward and be responsible for it. They do not blame other, neither the material. Best leaders will say from their heart that it’s their fault and they would like to fix it. They will not run away from the troubles.

g).   Leaders is Themselves.  Whereas successful leader seeks for opinions from their fellow guys, they are profoundly believe in themselves. They are confident in their power of making decision. They are themselves. After all, it’s leader that makes this final decision and it’s them.

h).   Leaders are Critical. Boss’s role is to get things done. Manager’s role is to get thing done right and look if it follows from what leader has set out. Great leaders are different in many senses. They don’t know how to get things done right but they know they are doing the right thing. They are not specialist like Boss or Manager but they are very visionary and very curious about new thing. They like to invent new and unique stuffs. In their head, they only think about something that has never done before.

i).   Leaders are Honest with Themselves: Self-identified is the most vital for leaders. Leaders know for sure who they really are. They love and trust themselves more than anybody else. They encourage themselves; they inspired and they give opportunity themselves to restart everything.

j). Leaders are Loving-kindness persons. The very last and most important trait for all great and successful leader is being a loving-kindness person ever. Having a sympathy mind and compassionate love towards other people regardless skin colour, races, background, and status allow great leader to stay closer to people and get everything learn very quick. It also allows him or her to communicate with surrounding environment very smoothly. Very powerful as have said by John Maxwell, loving-kindness will help everything work smoothly and that co-workers are working not because they are forced to do it but because they are proud to do it.

5 main principles leaders must live with all the time

There are a lots of principles that country's leader or CEO of the company must always go with, yet some of them can be ignored in some situation or case. For example, dress well and come to the meeting on time are principle that all leaders must follow. However, these two can be forgotten for sometimes because it poses little consequences to leader here and now.

Nonetheless, there are fundamental principles that leaders can't live hold position without it. As mentioned earlier, three core basic principles - Truthfulness, Gratitude and Patience - are, for example, must be always go with leaders. Without this principle, everything such as values, respect, honesty, and loving will be taken back in a matter of seconds. Also the five main principles this article will elaborate stand out to be leaders' property. Leaders must hold on this principle forever and lifelong, not just months or year.

Why it has to be that serious? Because it is important for decision. When one becomes a leader or CEOs, manager of a company or firms, they are going to make decisions that may affect health, wealth, happiness and life of the others. These five main principles help leaders, CEOs, managers or boss to come up with wise decision and positive implication over the long term.

What are these five main principles? The answer to this question is claimed by nobody but the natural answer. They are abstaining from killing or threaten of all beings, abstaining from stealing all kinds of others' property, abstaining from sexual misconduct, abstaining from telling a lie and the last one is abstaining from indulging life with alcohol, drug, and gambling.

a). Abstaining from killing or hurting others: This is really important principle that's why it comes at the very first rule. All beings needs life to live and do you, as the future leader. Everyone scares of death; everyone hates to see their family, friends, relatives, and their people were hurt; everyone dislikes punishment, restriction, and violation. Instead, everybody wants freedom from wants and fear. Everybody wants to live healthy and harmoniously. As you are going to the leader, you should understand this very important ground.

b). Abstaining from stealing: Why? I work hard; you work and the whole people in this globe is working hard for life enjoyment. They want to own something such as cars, phones, house, computers, and so on so forth. This is really meaning to freedom of property. As a leader, you can't be that corruptive behaviour. You must be kind rather. It is suggestive to give rather than taking away from your fellow people. Those properties mean nothing to you but being happy to see your co-workers or stuffs getting rich, earning more money is one of your leadership traits.

c). Abstaining from sexual misconduct: That's very sensitive and costs lots of lives. Your partner values more important than any other materials. Your partner is your life and you do not want others to take it always or exploit it. So do your fellow worker, friend, and people. Being the best leader, you must never touch up other's wife or husband. This is really wrong. You can try to do it secretly but you will never hide forever. And you will lose everything including your very long time name you have built. This third principle values as your fame.

d). Abstaining from telling a lie: Tell the truth. Be truthfulness to your fellow people. Make it as your habit. One thing that this fourth principle stand-out to be the most and harmful rule is because of its easiness to say things for funny. But everything is counting. You can't make fun by cheating. You can't order or threat people to work by telling them a lie. The fourth principle costs your leadership to go up and also down when you abuse it. It is easy to move your tongue but it is hard to recover it. Always say things wisely and honestly.

e). Abstaining from indulging life with alcohol, drug and gambling: Remember, the last is always the far most important. So does this principle. Why? Having violate the last principle will destroy the rest because the fifth principle really connects to one's state of mind. Alcohol or drug will down you mental state of mind. It will go to disorganize your thought and disrupt your wise thinking. You can't control your mind any more. What happen if you can't? You can't also follow the best four above.

Now, it is clear that leaders and those who wish increase their leadership ability must follow these five principles and take it seriously. The longer one obeys these rule, the higher they can go up.

Leadership is a solution to your daily business problems

Got a problem at working place? Not easy to get along with co-worker, receive countless blame from boss, no respect from subordinates etc. Got a problem in family? Can't enjoy family, children did not performance as they should and husband and wife did not play role as they suppose they should be. Got a problem in a country? Violence, corruption, chaos in the community. These are problems that often ghost people. These problems really disrupt good life of most people. How to get out of this worse situation become a doubtful for almost everybody.

Efforts have been made to find the solution but seems does not really answer the whole complex because there is problem already with the answer itself. The answer is not inclusive; it is not covering the whole story. The answer is context-situated and geographically determinate. We need the holistic one and that this article is the right answer to above question, nothing more nothing less.

Leadership is the only SOLUTION to all problematic life mentioning above. Why? What so special about leadership? Believe or not leadership is a well-known term and everybody knows its meaning but why remains many disputes, conflicts and puzzle life. There must be something wrong with it.

Now look at what leadership really means. Leadership defined by John C. Maxwell as the ability to influence, nothing more nothing less. Maxwell defends that when you can influence people and that people is doing something for you or following their task not because they have to but they would like, that ís really leadership. Maxwell is very correct to a bigger part.

When your people, your co-workers, your students, your children, or neighbours are doing things for you not because by order but they are pleased to do, you should notify that your leadership is considerably high. And the other way around if you force your fellow people to do something but they reluctant or resist to do it, for sure you have not even little leadership capability.

Gandhi, Luther King Jr. and Aung San Suu Kyi define "Leadership" differently. Leadership is all about devoting one's own life for the sake of the public with no condition. In fact, they all did already. They scarified even life for the goodness of their nation and the entire world. They did not hate their enemies. They treat people as human being equally. Nothing is higher or lower to them. Everyone is free and equal from birth. And when they see disrespect over human value, they always step in to help change the situation. So far, they succeeded it.

This is comparably matched with Buddha's four sublime states of mind: Loving-kindness, compassion, sympathetic-joy and equanimity. One has to always stick to these four sublime state of mind to live a good life. With loving-kindness, the first principle, towards all beings will bring greater peace, happiness and harmony. For sure, there will be no fighting, disputes or violence conflict among family, working place, or society. Together compassion, sympathetic-joy and equanimity, this is the answer to the above question. And that with these four sublime states of mind constitute a leadership character.

Hence, Leadership is about scarification, devotion, serving the public and in total must consist of loving-kindness, compassion, sympathetic-joy and equanimity.

Abraham Lincoln's Method to Test Man's Character

True character of a person is completely hard to identify. Why? It is because the flexibility of a person and their easily adaptation to the environment they are living in with their wisely knowledge to fit the given situation. There is no effective detection tool, in history. For most, we will never be able to clearly scan such a person whether good or bad, easygoing or serious, or discipline-less or well organized etc. What to do then in order to know people clearly?

Throughout research, they found that it is right that one can define a person when an evil or virtuous one, however, one can obtain higher proportion of information about that person through several criteria below:

Look at their associates; who this person is associating with. What they often do? Check out his or her friends instead of him or her allows us to easily notice the behaviours of those people. The reason simply because they are not going to pretend doing something good or bad in front of us. They will some from their natural performance. They will not hide it. If they were good, then they will something good natural and vice versa. This is one effective way.

a). Speech and Action: Normally, we tend to know what is good or bad through speech or action. If you want to know a person clearly. Perhaps the second recommended step is to investigate or search for pattern of speech and action they have. As people who used to stay around with them might help as well. This second tip is proved weak and inconvenient comparing to the first one. Let’s move to the third and fourth techniques, which are conceived to be the best tips ever shared by famous scholars and leaders around the world.

b). Habits: We all now know that we are the production of our habits of thought, action, and speech by early article in this blog. So, to keep it short to detect a person whether good or bad, friendly or the opposite, it is recommended to focus on habits of person. For sure, whatever a person is pretending to do it will not last long. They will one day reveal it automatically since it’s their true self. As such, it is very effective to have critical look on habits of thought, action and speech of a person so often they one will be able to know who should be associated and not. As mentioned in our previous article, we are what we think about most of the time. What we think we become. – Lord Buddha.

c). Character, last but not least, is the central key to a person. Knowing character of a person means knows everything about them from bottom to the head, from left to right and eyes to toes. But how we get to know if character of a person is this or that? By two possible ways:

- Abraham Lincoln suggests an impressive and truthful way to make a strong and sufficient detection. For Abraham Lincoln, as have seen in the picture above, to test a man’s character by giving him or her power. As it happens very often at your backyard, some people is supposed to be humble, calm and very basic once she or he is positioning in a lower status. They tend to friendly and communicable to kinds of people; they tend to say thanks, apologize for some errors and appreciate for one’s achievement and result. However, once their position or status moves up they are completely different. They tend to less-friendly, incommunicable, and ambitious etc. From this ground Abraham Lincoln advises that it is easily to test a person whether good or bad by giving them power. As one can see, if power is given and that person changes little or nothing then he is a good person but if very rapidly change then one knows for sure who those persons are.

- The second possible to detect a person character is by reviewing the whole process of character. When it becomes a character? Who creates and influences this character? From SEAN COVEY, the whole process is like this:
         Thought becomes words; words become actions;
         Actions become habits when repeatedly do;
Habits become CHARACTER when repeatedly perform.
Therefore, to test person’s character we got to learn their mind, their speech, their actions and their habits. It seems a bit long and complicated but prove very effective.

Three Qualities for best leaders - Truthfulness, Gratitude and Patience

In searching for increasing the ability to influence people is leader's most important job. How to lasting get respect and understand from the public is another most crucial but also the hardest task for today's Executive or Manager could have been doing.

For most of the time, best CEO of the year is not the best and perhaps the worst rather should be awarded. Yet, this society prefers this kind of behaviour or performance. This is really wrong. To get the awards or receive the champion, one executive leader must fulfil lots of requirement. It is not physically hard but mentally focus.

Then what are the core traits to be the best CEO, leader, manager and person of the year? In fact, there are many characteristics to be pointed out (which I will do it in the next article) but in this very specific article I would like pick three very important qualities of being the greatest, lasting leadership.

Do not hesitate to express your argument if these principles do not fit the reality or do not reflect what nowadays leaders are doing. The principles that i'm going to discuss are naturally inborn into everybody's life. Noticing it or not, we all have it. Our parent gave us since the day we were born. That's why to some people they would these are very traditional principles which somehow are outdated. However, this article is proving that the triple core values: Truthfulness, Gratitude and Patient never get old neither need new principles to substitute it. These principle is lasting true and permanently applicable to all nations, geographic, position, status, religions, system, races etc.

Perhaps there would be questions about who invented or discover these principle. Do not worry! No one invented it, neither do God. These principles belong to nobody but is applying to everybody without any exception. Why not exception? Let go with me to see the detail of those three best traits for anybody who wishes to become great leader, best CEO, best Executive leadership and best person of the month, year, or whole life.

Let me first elaborate on these three principles (Truthfulness, Gratitude, and Patient) as follow:

a). Truthfulness: Whatever English dictionary gives definitions, for most of us this is very clear that truthfulness is about being honesty and sincerity toward reality of things. Everyone knows this, right? But why not every of us becomes the best leadership, most prominent CEO or manager if all know about this first principle?

There is one thing most people on earth do not pay attention to which is TRUTHFULNESS  is not a noun. It is not just being simply honesty and that's it. No, it is beyond that understanding. And that few people understood this concept. That is why the world remains shortage of great leadership, the company remains have not enough leadership workers. Only Mohandas Gandhi, Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela, Aung San Suu Kyi have been to the top and not all of us. These great people understood very clear the first principle of truthfulness that: Truthfulness is not a noun; it is a verb with very active performance.

One has to do it, not just knowing it in mind and keep silence. Materialize this principle into practicality and turn it into one's own habit. For sure, great leader starts with this very first principle. So, the tip is turning thinking or knowing-principle into working-principle. This first principle represents your active hand, 1st H principle.

b). Gratitude: Since we were born, we owe many things to many people and this universe. The best relationship between air, land, water, fire and wind makes the earth and its neighbouring run smoothly and that we, the human, also enjoy a good life. Nature provides us so many things we can't count. We need to be grateful with our nature as well. What about parents? They are priceless than the earth, nature and the rest for us.

Why i say this? Because we need to realize that we owe many things to many peoples. Then what we have to do is be grateful about them. Ready to show great respect to not just our lovers, belovers, family, friends but anybody. With our heart, one must remember that giving hand to people is really required since we are living interdependently.

Why it has to do with best leader? I said why not. All best leaders in history always respect and thankful to their own citizens. All best CEOs always loves, protect and gratitude to their co-workers. This is how they get to the top. This is counting the 2nd principle or 2nd H principle.

c). Patient: Nothing in this universe is easy for you. The simple thing requires simple person to do it but the best thing requires best performance from you. And it's patient or perseverance. This is logical truth for all lives. Bear in mind this principle if you want to stay at the top and be there longer. It is not hard to do for those who already have the first two principles.

So this third principle wants you to never give up for what you have committed to. Aung San Suu Kyi for democratic freedom, Nelson Mandela for African liberation from Apartheid, Luther King for equal treatments began with hardest job and end with glorious success. Why success? Only one answer is patience and always moving forward.

These three principles are interconnected. Having the all these three qualities will put you at the top of any organization, company, CEOs, government position, or all kinds of leadership.

Follow it, you will succeed your goal. Ignore it, you will move nothing!

How and What is racism to Robert Mugabe

This is an amazing speech ever for the world of racism. Be reminded that the world black is still considered by many out of the group strongly argued by Zimbabwean President. We do not know how much proportion of racism has been reduced over the years since the memorable and changing death of Martin Luther King Jr. and the recent death of Nelson Mandela but we have known for sure that discrimination against the black does exist and can hardly be eliminated, said Robert Mugabe the longest served President in African continent and probably the World.

That’s how he becomes so popular in his ruling since. Mugabe appears to be on black and hunting the possible ways to promote black African as equal as the rest nations. For many Zimbabwean, Robert Mugabe is their hero in the sense that he is anti-American or the West. However, for others Mugabe is a cruel dictatorship. He does not just did not care the Zimbabwean but he also gravely exploit them in many cases and issues.
So far, Mugabe is still in power and the suffered remains suffering and the prosperous continues to enjoy fair and equal opportunity among themselves and preparing ways to rue the majority innocent Zimbabwean.

Lately, Mugabe’s given speech on fighting against racism, which for many African is a sensitive and very nonnegotiable issue, stands out catching eyes and ear of world leaders. Mugabe’s speech is ringing a bell that racism is coming and that the world and international community must do something to reduce to such lesser extent so that people of all human kind may be able to live together again.
It is noteworthy to remind that crisis in the Middle East nowadays is also sharing many part of identity issues and racism. And the world is witnessing that it is intractable issue and must be resolved through the ground of respect, equality and integrity. Using force and military power is nothing than just to extend the already firing situation.
Below is courtesy of Robert Mugabe’s speech. Please enjoy the reading and take your time to sleep on it to see if Robert’s idea is right to a certain extent.

Speech of the year!

A speech by Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe,

“Racism will never end as long as white cars are still using black tires. Racism will never end if people still use black to symbolize bad luck and white for peace. Racism will never end if people still wear white clothes to weddings and black clothes to funerals. Racism will never end as long as those who don't pay their bills are blacklisted not white-listed. Even when playing snooker. You haven't won until you've sunk the black ball, and the white ball must remain on the table. But I don't care, as long as I'm still using white toilet paper to wipe my black butt, I'm fine!”

Mindfulness is what matters you the most

Have you attempted to open a business on your own if you are a business student? Have you attempted to apply for a grant from a higher authority or organization to study for free? Have you made it? Many people did not make it happen. They felt they will not be able to compete with others; they thought they will not get any chance into that. They worried that they will be more frustrated when people found out that they failed the course, business, scholarship competition or whatever intensive task. They concern about this and that; they worry about this and that. And finally, they gave up even before they start the project.

And when they try it just one time they would say it is because such a difficult work that fail them while the others blame the outside situation such as the sun, sky or the environment that stands as the major obstacles stopping them from successfully completing their tasks. This type of people will give just one and one chance to themselves and when they can't make it happen they will feel inferior and promise not to do it again. Such a cowardice mind.

In fact, most of the time nothing is going to fail us but we ourselves will do it directly. We did not believe in ourselves; we are not sure if we can do it and how can we make it happen if so. Most often people in this category are a plan-failure. Or they may have a plan but their plan is to fail themselves, not the opposite. As such, before doing anything try to make up our mind - what we want the most; what are the goal, objective and portable missions. Draw everything in a clear picture of your mind and also in paper before you put it into practice. Remember one famous quote always if you do not believe in this text. The quote is: "If you fail to plan then you plan to fail."

In fact, nothing can stop us from doing what you want except your heart/mind. We must begin with our heart, head and soul. We must work on the plan with our heart, head and soul. Believe or not we will succeed everything task if we stick to this principle. As shown in the picture, this house is full of energy. She can drag and throws that chair away easy but why she is still for her master? It is because she sets a programme in her mind that she can't do it; she will not be able to do it; she will be beaten or frustrated if she can make it happen successfully. The same thing applies to our every mindset. Most often we set our mind in a very low point. We don't believe that we can anything than just simple stuffs like cooking, cleaning, and looking after children etc. Actually, we set it to this level.

Look at those famous people that they have achieved the maximum in their life. Are they different from us? Are they human being? They are the same like us; they are all human being. Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Albert Einstein, Dalai Lama, Aung San Suu Kyi, Jesus Christ or even Buddha is all human beings. They reach the top not because of luck, not because of accidently happen, not because of somebody corruptly help them, but they reach the top because they set themselves that they will make it and they go it.

Now, let leave up burden from yourselves, free yourselves and always work for extra mile. Make your new, productive mind for new and healthy result. Remember one quote from Brian Tracy: "Don't expect something different if you keep do the same things." And also change your mind will automatically change your life as well. Brian Tracy.

What is leadership?

Leadership, what is it all about? When you be called a leader? Is it when you got a given position or when you serve the community from your maximum?

Most often people think that they are not a leader unless they are in this or that position. Also most often those who are already in the given position rarely perceive themselves as a leader. They may compare themselves to just a worker, manager, or boss. However, their colleagues who are working udder their supervisory called the boss as their leader. When exactly you should know that you are a leader? How big and high you have to be on before you can call yourself a leader?

The simply meaning of the term 'leader' comes from 'to lead'. For example, a teacher leads a group of students to investigate the construction of a ruined temple, Angkor Wat, in order to under more about her civilization. That's the meaning of leading but leader is not that simple. It has more means and tasks than just to bring one or a group of people from one to another place.

By definition from many best experts in leadership, they offer variety of criteria and quality if one's o be called 'LEADERS.'

For most experts, LEADERS is the combination of words:
L = Look and Listen
E = Emotional Bonding
A = Awareness
D = Doing
E = Empowerment
R = Responsibility
S = Synchronicity
To be a leader, one must have a long distance look. He or she must be visionary person. Be able to see the picture of the future; what would be like if they keep do this and that etc. Also, listen more than anybody else. In common, the boss we are working with every day tend not to listen to his/her colleagues. They do not encourage co-worker to talk up. Listening is one of the best ways to learn new theory or knowledge. Leader should talk less and listen more as strongly express by His Holiness the Dalai Lama that speaking is just a repetition of what you have known but listen will add you more new ideas and knowledge.

Emotional Bonding is quite important does listening. As the top person of a company or any working environment, one can't understand other people's without playing with heart. Leader must have heart. Use one's own heart to understand people's difficulties. This emotional bonding will help increase deeper mutual understanding between co-workers if the technique is properly and regularly used.

The third element of leader is awareness. Be always alerted with the surrounding environment. Be mindfulness. Know what she or he is currently doing and the rest colleagues. It's quite a bit tough duty to do but prove very effective one can stick it more often.

Doing: Leader is not just formulating an idea but they also put it on the ground and they do it by themselves. This is the most important elements of leaders. Doing allow people to model us. As a great leader, one has to talk less and do more. Those who are successful leaders; they do not just thinking and thinking and they apply their concepts into reality. They dare to fail since they expect trial an errors. They would lost nothing by trying but will get a lesson-learned back from doing.

Empowerment is completely matched with the above picture. Leader is not just make his or her own self to become a greater person but invest lots of efforts to change others. Leader encourages their fellow people to live with principle and stick to well-discipline behavior. Leader, if to be great, must think about interests of their fellow priority than themselves. The devotion to peers and colleagues becoming a better new person will automatically change a position as a leader to the great leader. It seems easy to talk but in practice it's not until one has very strong commitment.

Responsibility: No finger point to others. Leader, a good one, will always blame him or herself first. Leader must know the game that when it comes to success, must say it is because of peer colleagues and all co-workers but where there is failure, it's because his or her weak leadership. Doing this will stabilize the situation and keep all workers under control. And for sure, the one who intentionally or unintentionally made the thing wrong will come up to that leader and confess. This tactic will increase more mutual understanding and respect from one another.

This last qualitative element is the ability to get together. The ability to unify the group as one and work for a common purpose. This ability can't stand alone, It requires all elements above to fulfill this one. How can a worker listen to you as a leader if you value nothing to them? Hence, to get the last done it is very important to not skip any elements above.

Now the question when you become a leader is almost answered, however, we can't have much space to say it in this article. Let's continue to our next series of leadership article and you will be sure in obtaining the answer.

- Helen Keller

Helen Adams Keller was born June 27, 1880, in the northwest Alabama city Tuscumbia. Her father was a retired Confederate Army captain and editor of the local newspaper; her mother was an educated young woman from Memphis. When Keller was 19 months old, she was attacked by an unknown disease, possibly scarlet fever or meningitis, which left her deaf and blind.

Keller was very intelligent and tried to understand their environment through touch, smell and taste. However, began to realize that their family members said to one another with their mouths instead of characters as she did. Feel her moving lips, she flew into a rage when she was not able to join the call. At the age of six, Keller later wrote in her autobiography, "the need for some means of communication was so urgent that these outbursts occurred daily, sometimes hourly."

Anne Sullivan came to Tuscumbia be Helens teacher on March 3, 1887. Later that day Keller would call them "soul birthday." Perkins Director Michael Anagnos was clever, the strong-willed to choose Sullivan, for some young women would, persevered through the turbulent first few weeks of the relationship. Keller hit, pinched and kicked her teacher and hit one of her teeth. Sullivan eventually gained control by using the girl to move to the cellar plot in a small cottage. Through patience and solid consistency, they finally won the child heart and confidence, a necessary step before Keller's education could go.

Sullivan began with the developed by Perkins' first director techniques, Samuel Gridley Howe, when he used to work with Laura Bridgman 50. She fingers the names of familiar objects in her students in the hand. They innovated by Keller's favorite activities and their love of the natural world incorporated into the course. Keller enjoyed this "finger play", but they do not understand to the famous moment when Sullivan wrote "w-a-t-e-r", while the water pump on her hand. Keller later wrote:

Suddenly I felt a misty consciousness of something forgotten-thrill intended return; and somehow the mystery of language was revealed to me. I knew then that "w-a-t-e-r" meant the wonderful cool something that flowed over my hand. The Living Word awakened my soul, gave it light, hope, joy, set it free! ... Everything had a name, and each name gave birth to a new thought. When we returned each object that I seemed touched to shake the house with life.
Keller wrote of the following days: "I did nothing but explore with hands and learn the name of each object that I touched; and the more I handled things and learned their names and applications, the more cheerful and confident grew my feeling of kinship with the rest of the world. "Sullivan constantly to her fingers and she trained in the give and take of conversation. 7 Life Lessons from Helen Keller

Below are 7 Life Lessons from Helen Keller:

1. Go to your dreams

"Life is either a daring adventure or nothing. Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature. To avoid danger is no safer in the long run than exposure completely."

I often say to people go after their dreams and turn them into reality. My skeptic would say: "That's unrealistic," ... but what's the point of being "realistic." Nothing great was ever been achieved by a "realist."
Albert Einstein was not a realist, the Wright brothers were not realists, Thomas Edison was not
Realist, and Alexander Graham Bell was certainly not a realist.

What is "realistic" but accepted the self-imposed limitations of the company? Remove the borders; go after your dreams. In the infamous words of Paris Hilton, "life is too short to blend." Chase your dream, as it is the last bus of the night.

2. You need a vision

"It is a terrible thing to see and have no vision!"
Do you have a vision, a goal, a plan, a mission for your life? Isaiah wrote, without a vision the people perish. Great leaders are always great visionaries, they have an internal picture of where you go; their fixed on their vision. What is your vision?

3. Nothing is impossible

"We can, we want to do do anything, if we keep it long enough"
The beauty of "time" is that one can achieve almost anything if you hold it long enough. Set your mind on what you want to achieve, and do not stop until you get there. They say the utility of the stamp is its ability to remain a while before he gets there. Learn from the stamp; remain to committed to your dream, until you get there.

4. The experience is priceless

"Life is a series of lessons that are understood to be lived."
Knowledge is good, but the experience is invaluable. Learn from all life lessons! Never be afraid to get your hands dirty by to get some first-hand experience. Only experience can bring full understanding.

5. Focus on the Positive

"Although the world is full of suffering, it is full also of the overcoming of it."
Although we could focus on the negative things around us, it does not make a lot of good to us. Helen Keller said, "Keep your face to the sunshine and you will never see the shadow." I think this is good advice. Decide to see the glass as "half full", things are not getting worse, they are getting better!

6. Hang out with winners

"As they say today, it can not be done, it was done."
Winners hang-out with the winners. hang out with negative people will not be caught. Negative people are like "Vampire" she what around them to suck the life out of everything. They are always saying, "as you can not see why you can not, and how you are going to fail if you try." If you depend too long with these "chicken", you will remember that you have the ability, as an eagle in the air. Decide to spend time with those who is the impossible, to believe.

7. Your destiny is in your hands

"What I look for is not" out there ", it is in me"
Everything you need to succeed, you already have on the inside of you. Shakespeare wrote, blaming dear Brutus is not in our stars that we are underlings, but in ourselves. The success is yours for the taking, but you have to believe it, and you must be convinced that you deserve it ,
"One can never consent to creep when one feels an impulse to rise." - Helen Keller
Thanks for reading, and the next time you think something can not be done, remember Helen Keller.

Mother Teresa - influential women

"If women would realize what an impact they have, they would be filled with pride. If people realized how influential women, they would be scared to death."

It is said that we. All affect at least 250 people in our lives We all have the responsibility for the management.

Every woman can be a guide. But the results of surveys show that most women greatly underestimate their influence.

At home it can organize our children clean the house or, more importantly, instilling values and morals in their lives. In the workplace, it can attract people to be for distribution. We influence others by what we say and do, and-as we do our work.

We recognize that Mother Teresa was one of the great religious and humanitarian leaders of the world. If we aspire to be leaders, we must learn to recognize between glory and greatness. Fame is Madonna; Size is Mother Teresa. There is a tremendous shortage and the need for truly great leaders-leaders who are trustworthy, ethical, good, honest and high personal standards. The world is looking for honest and upright leaders.

Luckily, there are more women in leadership now than when I started, take on leadership tasks first. As in leadership roles for more than thirty years with major and minor tasks-I learned a lot about the good guidance. What is a leader? "A leader is a person who influences people to fulfill a purpose." How can one become a leader? "A leader correctly assessed a situation and know how to take the next step."

Whether you know it or not, whether you believe it or not, you're a leader-an influencer. Your opinions are listened to and acted upon. The following nine principles will help you make the most of your influence:

1. Do you have a dream that leave this world a better place

"Is there anything worse than to be blind? Yes! The pathetic person in the world someone who has sight, but has no vision." So said Helen Keller.

Guide is simply the ability to turn a dream or a vision of a desired future state in the reality, with and through cooperation with other people. To throw your life into something meaningful, must your dream die be worth it. What do you get excited?

Do you have a great vision; learn about your skills you questioned. If we have directed our efforts at this moment only-for ourselves, for the accumulation of material things, for human consumption, we will be dissatisfied and disappointed with life. Former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher said: "There is little hope for democracy if the hearts of men and women can not by a call to something greater than themselves to be touched."

Have a dream and vision that is greater than itself-one that this world will leave a better place.

2. Do you know what your strengths are

To leaders, we need each other to achieve our goals. Each of us has only some of the skills needed to do a good job. We need to surround ourselves to fill with people in our gaps. Seventy-nine year old Muriel tower, an experienced entrepreneur, said: "You get things done through other people, the number one in the business is the best person to get the job number two to delegate number three, go supervise back and see... that they did. "

To be effective, you need a team to work. We carry on the basis of our strengths; we collect our team based on their strengths.

What is your management style? Are you a visionary? A person who can see the big picture and take risks? Or you're a detail person-an administrative type? They see the need for systems and order. You do things correctly and at the right time. They are efficient. Maybe you are more of a seller-a people gatherer. They love people and can anyone sell something, but do not care about details. Or maybe just you love work itself. A hard worker-producer. Let someone give you a track to run and you will do it.

Before you are 30 years old, you can probably without too much trouble to do all these tasks. But once you are over thirty, you realize you do not want the things that you are not good. It consumes too much energy. If you know what you are good to surround yourself with a team that is at the other three well.

If you have this team, meet regularly with them and a Memorandum of Understanding to work you. Rate often with your staff, so you do not lose your focus. Ask short- and long-term goals and evaluate two or three times a year to see how you do. Your team will be motivated together towards achieving your goals. Give credit where credit is due. Say "thank you" to the people you are working with. Encourage them often!

Your strengths and the strengths of the other is to understand the key to effective leadership.

3. pursuit of excellence

The people you affect not want to rise to a higher standard of excellence than what they observe in it. The authors of Megatrends to write for women, "male or female, the effective leader wins commitment an example of excellence to set."

We were hosting a dinner for influential women in three cities with a known, successful speaker. Of course, we were anxious to make a good impression, so we spent hours wording the invitations. However, when they were printed, and we saw them over, we discovered to our Bestürzung- that the logo for our organization was printed upside down. It was an expensive mistake.

After much discussion, we decided to print them themselves, even though we knew that the majority of women would not even notice the error.

We wanted to influence leaders, and we had to do things right, not only to do the right things. Leaders must strive for excellence.

The pursuit of excellence and you will attract others to do the same.

4. Be persistent

Mother Teresa was a determined woman. Margaret Thatcher was a determined woman. To be the key to a good leader, is stamina being a non-quitter. You'll be tempted to leave, and are supported by which to end the friends and enemies. Be not ready to throw in the towel. Be determined.

A journalist wrote Mother Teresa: "When I met Mother Teresa, I discovered it was very tiny less than five meters high and held her head tilted to one side you had gnarled hands and thick peasant feet protruding under her coarse white sari. . Although it can not be denied, the aura of warmth and kindness that surrounded them, I felt that I was the most powerful in the present, focused and determined person I've ever met. "

Determination and perseverance as the number one essential characteristics for success Women rated According to a survey carried out by Deloitte and Touche, senior women executives in business. To exit to another location this world, you must be persistent. Employees do not grow in a comfort zone. Employees are not people with exceptional talent; they are people who get up from their mistakes and try and you learned it again.

Persistence is the key to effective leadership.

5. Be willing to stand alone

If you have a passion, a dream or a mission, set measurable goals and work to achieve them. You will find that many times you may have to work alone. They are likely to be lonely.

People for executives looking, willing them everything they have to give, and they will follow for a while. However, when push comes to shove when fun and comfort compete with responsibility and long hours, will drop off trailers. That's when you need to be sure that what you're doing is right, so you can keep going.

James Cook said: "A person who wants to lead the orchestra must make his back on the crowd."

6. Be prepared for resistance

One of the facts of life is that if you are in the guide, you need to solve problems.

Pastor Lloyd Ogilvie for many years the senior pastor at First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood, California, and now Chaplain of the US Senate, once observed that "Everyone has problems, if you do not have now, you will have problems; everywhere where you work or live, you will have problems; or you might just be someone else's problem ".

Sometimes we have the erroneous idea that we should go through life to be able to be problem free, that if we have problems, something is wrong with our lives. As leaders, we must be responsible, no matter how painful it is. Running away is not an option.

We can solve our problems easily fall for someone in the waiting otherwise. In her book the Cinderella complex, Colette Dowling writes to wait for Prince Charming: "As Cinderella, today women are still waiting for something external to transform their lives, we can venture a little, but underneath lurks a desire deep. longing to be rescued by a function. "

You do not need to wait for help someone else. You will have problems. Be ready. Expecting it. If you know that you will do what is right, you will not cave in when the going gets tough.

to meet Facing with them problems and dealing with good decisions is the difference between a leader and a follower.

7. Set an example for your employees

"Work hard and become a leader; be lazy and never succeed."

I am amazed at how many people want a position, but not the responsibility. It is natural to want to shirk responsibility; We all do it. However, a leader is to be, it means long hours. It means available to solve problems or provide direction whenever necessary. To be a leader means to be a servant, whether you are in your home or at work. They are always on call.

A leader works hard.

8. Be ethical

Since I travel a lot, I collect statistics from many different newspapers and magazines. USA Today said that two out of three adults Ethics "vary according to situation" believe or that there is no 18% of people aged 20 "unchanging ethical standard of right and wrong." - 30 said that it was wrong and a standard of right.

The Vancouver Province printed another study that expressed that we say is 200 per day. to give all of excuses for our behavior, to say things like: "... I hate to bother you," Do not expect to do your employees or the next generation, which is right, when they see you do what is wrong , It is incredibly important that we have a strong code of ethics have our choices and lifestyle based on.

Which set of values dictate your ethics your behavior? Or do you have a code of ethics? Do you have beliefs that you have to say that "I will never do that" or "For me this is not an option?" If you do not, sit down, think through and write your non-negotiable code of ethics. Sometimes it can be the little things that undermine your standards and-by the way-your self-esteem. When temptation comes, you can very well to do something that will be later on sadly. Sometimes you have adverse situations to live with the rest of your life.

Margaret Thatcher once said: "I am not a consensus politician, I am a conviction politician." What kind of leader are you? Do you have convictions of their own, or live by the consensus of different opinions?

It is of utmost importance to have high ethical standards, to be an effective leader.

9. Let God be your guide

Elizabeth Dole, president of the American Red Cross, said in an interview: "For me it is very important to know, I have a source of power over my own If I, a difficult task, a company or a hard decision, I'm glad. I "do not rely on my own power, wisdom and discernment.

twenty-four years ago, I realized I needed about me a source of strength. The goals I had set for myself were not satisfactory, and even relationship does not fill my deepest need. At thirty-two years stay, I was in control of my life to God. He is that source of strength I needed. I just prayed, "I want you now to be my guide, of until I die." He's mine.

First, I was filled with immense joy, peace and satisfaction. I felt like someone really cared for me accepted me unconditionally. It was like finding a missing piece of a puzzle after. For a long time looking

My objectives, priorities and dreams began to change. My dreams were much larger-beyond what I could do personally. My peripheral growing interest from the home base for the community, from the community of the province, from the province to our nation, our nation in the world.

I noticed a lot of women in my world were not to maximize their abilities; I worked hard to encourage and train them to be the best women, they could be.

But more importantly, I realized that if Jesus Christ could satisfy me, and to change my life so dramatically, he could do that for everyone. So I started to tell people how they could have a personal relationship with God.

Find the way to change your life and your world to let God be your guide.

Oliver W. Holmes was quoted as saying: "I find the great thing in this world is not so much where we stand as in what direction we are going." In what direction do you think you are heading 5 years from now? 10 years from now? 25 years from now?

As a leader, what direction are you going? Which direction take the 250 people who will affect you?

Living with Hope

If you want peace, there is a way to balance your life. No one can be perfect, or a perfect life. But each of us has the opportunity to fully experience with God through His Son Jesus Christ by grace through a personal relationship.

You can receive by faith through prayer Christ right now. Pray simply speaks to God. God knows your heart and is not so concerned with your words as He is with the attitude of the heart. Here is a suggestion for prayer:

Lord Jesus, I want you to know you personally. Thanks for my sins on the cross to die. I open the door of my life to you and ask you to come in as my Savior and Lord. Take control of my life. to forgive Thanks for my sins and give me eternal life. Make me the kind of person you want me to be.
